Youngsters learn filmmaking basics
A group of 9- to 12-year-olds learned some basics about filmmaking in a class at Highlands Ranch Eastridge Recreation Center in June, and enrollment is open for a July session with teacher Julie Pearson.
The kids shot a film about aliens and spaceships hurtling through space.
Parson said some of her students from last year “have started their own YouTube channel and are reviewing movies, posting short films they made and adding links to other sites young filmmakers might find helpful.”
The next session is scheduled from July 1 to 31, also for ages 9 to 12 — and will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tuition is $300 (former students get 10 percent off). Register at hrcaonline.org — Movie Making Camp #461012.
