Denver Pops Orchestra is looking for musicians for the 2018-19 season.
Vacancies include concertmaster (paid position), tuba, French horn, bass clarinet, percussion and section strings. Musicians who play other instruments are welcome to audition; the orchestra is happy to add musicians to the substitute list.
Denver Pops is a volunteer organization that performs a variety of popular music, including Broadway and movie arrangements, dance and big band tunes, and light classical pieces.
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, and the season runs from late August to mid-May, with six to seven performances per season.
For auditions, musicians are expected to perform two excerpts of tje applicant’s choosing — a classical excerpt and a pops or jazz excerpt and sight reading. Auditions take place the evening of May 30 at 975 S. Balsam Court, Lakewood.
Go to www.denverpopsorchestra.org for information and to schedule an audition.
