Time to pay it forward

There’s a myth floating around that DougCo doesn’t vote for school funding, but it’s incorrect. DougCo voters used to vote regularly for school funding. Taxpayers voted “yes” for school bonds in 1970, 1974, 1978, 1984, 1989, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2006. It’s been 12 very long years without funding for our capital needs, but that’s the exception, not the rule. My kids have graduated. They won’t benefit personally from 5A and 5B, but they graduated with a great education from the funding this community invested years ago. I’m grateful that our voters thought they were worth it.

It’s time to pay it forward. I’m voting yes on 5A and 5B, because kids today deserve the same great education that my kids received.
