Highlands Ranch woman spent 4 days in the ICU


A Douglas County inmate died of her injuries May 29 after spending four days in the intensive care unit following a suicide attempt, the county sheriff’s office said.

The 54-year-old Highlands Ranch woman was found inside her cell attempting suicide May 25 at about 1 p.m. during a routine welfare check, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. She was transported to Castle Rock Adventist Hospital and placed in the intensive care unit. 

The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office.
