Gift mart a chance to shop from local crafters

Artisans offer handmade wares through Christmas

For those getting tired of doing their shopping on Amazon, the Christmas in the Rockies Gift Mart at the Aspen Grove shopping center in south Littleton is a chance to get up close with handmade products and those who make them.

“There's a lot of cool stuff here, and I'm trying to do what I can to support small business,” said Annie Shay, who picked up a book for her niece by local author Justin Matott — who was on hand to autograph it.

Booths at the gift mart offer local food, jewelry, art and even handmade face masks.

For some sellers, the gift mart is a chance to make up for a challenging year.

“Normally we would have spent a lot of our year at craft shows, but that just didn't happen in 2020,” said Shannon Campbell, co-owner of Styria Bakery, who runs a booth offering traditional European breads and pastries. “We're really glad to be here. Bread is the ultimate comfort food, and I think people can use that this year.”

The gift mart is located at the far south end of Aspen Grove on Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue, and runs through Dec. 27.
