ThunderRidge High School held its graduation commencement ceremony May 14 at Magness Arena at the University of Denver, celebrating 469 students earning their diplomas.
The ceremony began with a performance by the ThunderRidge Symphony of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and the ThunderRidge choir of “A Million Dreams.”
Thousands packed Magness Arena to watch the hundreds of graduates. The senior class president and student body vice president, Brendon O'Hearn and Makenna Green, respectively, presented the class of 2019 gift, a wood-burned portrait of a grizzly bear, the school's mascot.
Principal Nikki Ballow announced the certification of the class of 2019 as students walked across the floor to receive their diplomas. The top valedictorian, Aubrey Schafer, joined Ballow in presenting the graduates to close out the ceremony.
