Join the Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society at 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019 for a highly entertaining and educational presentation of "Irish in Leadville," by Dr. James Walsh at the Highlands Ranch Library
Dr. Walsh’s talk will focus on the history of the Irish immigrant community in Leadville and how it flowed into other Colorado cities such as Denver and Victor/Cripple Creek. He will talk about the current memorial project and how Colorado's early Irish community relates to a larger national and international context. He opens his presentation with an historical monologue where he plays Leadville Irish labor leader Michael Mooney.
James Walsh is an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department at the University of Colorado Denver, where he has taught for the past 21 years. He is co-author of Irish Denver, and author of numerous articles about the history of the Leadville Irish. Walsh is also founder of the Romero Theater Troupe, a fifteen-year old all-volunteer organic community theater.
Show up early at 6:30 p.m. to network with fellow genealogists.
See you on October 1st.
