If you're heading into retirement, you may be asking yourself, “What's next?”
The Highlands Ranch Metro District will help answer that question at a program on purposeful retirement from 6-8 p.m. April 11 at its administrative building, 62 Plaza Drive. The cost is $10.
The metro district's Active Adult Programs & Services will host the program, called What's Next. Certified retirement and career transition coach Gary Foster will lead discussions and exercises on healthy aging. Topics explored will include understanding how and why retirement is changing, raising awareness of the potential pitfalls of an unplanned retirement and crafting an action-based roadmap to retirement, according to a media release from the metro district.
Foster spent three decades working in the corporate world, where he saw the disappointments and anxieties many experienced as they moved into and through the third age of life — retirement.
“The new retirement is one of a balance of labor, love, leisure and learning,” Foster said in the release. “That is the focus of this workshop.”
