Investigators with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two car thieves “who they believe are armed and dangerous,” the sheriff’s office said in a Sept. 28 news release.
On Sept. 25 at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 18000 block of East Caley Place in Centennial, a 23-year-old man interrupted a man and woman stealing his blue Dodge Ram pickup truck from the driveway of his home, according to the release.
When the man confronted the suspects, they allegedly pointed a weapon at him, the sheriff’s office said in the release.
The man then allegedly fired at the suspects with his own weapon and potentially hit one of them, according to the release.
The suspects, who had arrived in a white sedan and parked in front of the victim’s home, fled the scene.
Video footage of part of the incident, recorded on a Ring camera, was published by the sheriff’s office on YouTube.
The video appears to show the female suspect fled the scene in the white sedan and the male suspect fled the scene in the stolen blue truck.
Ginger Delgado, a public information officer for Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, said in an email on Sept. 28 that the truck "was recovered that same night."
"It's just the white sedan that's still missing," Delgado said in the email.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying the two suspects and locating the 2017 white Hyundai Sonata four-door sedan, according to the release. The license number is LLDOLPH.
Those who have information can contact the agency’s investigations tipline at (720) 874-8477.
All information can be confidential, and callers can remain anonymous, according to the release.
