Keep church, state separate
Have the Douglas County Commissioners forgotten about a recent lawsuit concerning the use of taxpayer money in the form of vouchers that the Douglas County School Board attempted to implement a few years ago? How can our commissioners justify their recent action of awarding tax money to a private, religious school?
I understand the need to provide resources to protect the safety of students in our schools, but have the commissioners taken action out of the context of the law and crossed the line between church and state? Is another expensive round of court action needed to protect taxpayers from misuse of tax dollars?
