My name is ... Daniel Snyder

A local with a love for saving lives, being outside and making cheese

Returning to the Ranch

I am 49 years old, and I have lived in Highlands Ranch for 15 years. My wife and I lived in Highlands Ranch for four years before moving for a few years.  When a new work opportunity arose, the first place we decided we wanted to return to was Highlands Ranch.  We enjoy the community, the people, and lifestyle that we have worked hard to maintain.  We also like the school system and the education our children have received.

Helping save a life

I am the owner of Rocky Mountain CPR and First Aid.  My business is a training center for the American Heart Association.  We provide the metropolitan area with CPR/AED and first aid training.  My favorite part of my day-to-day responsibilities is that I go to work knowing that the training I provide is going to help someone save a life.  Due to the first responder population I work with, I know that the skills I teach are being used daily.

Local CPR training

I work with many community first responders who are doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers, paramedics and EMTs who are providing both training to the community and also using life-saving skills on a daily basis. I also work with many of the Douglas County schools and colleges in the area providing CPR and first aid training. This is through training CPR/first aid Instructors and teaching courses myself.

Highlands Ranch helpers

We have dedicated first responder professionals in the community who make safety their first priority.  As a community, we are fortunate to have people who give of themselves unselfishly and put our needs for safety as a top priority.

A love for the backcountry

My favorite part about Highlands Ranch is the hiking paths in the backcountry. It can be a warm summer day, or a crisp snowy morning, and I can find myself exploring the wilderness just outside my back door.  I love the outdoors. Hiking, skiing, and climbing 14ers are passions of mine. I also enjoy gardening and any opportunity to get outside with our dog.  I also enjoy fly fishing and the challenges of landing the next big fish. I grew up in Boulder, so naturally the love of the outdoors was built into me early in life.

An unusual hobby

One of my hobbies is making homemade cheese.  Once when on a business trip to Portland, I picked up a book on making cheese.  I started with easy ones such as Ricotta and Mozzarella.   I am now progressing to making more complicated types like aged cheddar.
