About me

I was born in Tripoli, Libya, in North Africa. My dad was in the oil business, so we traveled around a lot, to Texas, California, Alaska, a lot of places. We moved here in 1972. I’ve lived here ever since.

I was a professional ice skater. I went off and skated in the Ice Follies — it’s now Disney on ice — for several years. I love the show biz. I love all of the sparkle. I love performing.

Our story

When I was 23, I walked into a do-it-yourself frame shop to frame some of my own watercolors. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to start working there. That’s how my husband Tim and I met. In 2002, the two of us bought our own frame shop and we’ve now been doing it for 17 years.

I think what makes us different is that we really listen to what our customers want. We have over 5,000 frame samples to choose from. We take people in that have never framed before and ask them a ton of questions, where it’s going to go and what they are interested in.

We are open six days a week. It’s just the two of us. We don’t have any employees. We do everything ourselves so we wear a lot of hats. We specialize in customer service and take the time to learn what everyone wants.

You’ll notice …

I always have cycle clothes on. People freak if they come in and I’m in regular clothes. I didn’t want my car to get hailed on so I started riding everywhere and fell in love with it. I cycle everywhere. I’ve biked more than 40,000 miles.

I ride year-round. I ride in the snow, in the rain. I love it.

Fun fact

I love glitter. I wear glitter everyday. I put it in my lotion, so I’m always sparkling. I’m 59 going on 15. I even have glittery frames.

I think everything should have glitter.
