Soprano Anna Montgomery, 27, was the first-place winner in Denver Lyric Opera Guild’s annual competition. Her First Place Galen and Ada Belle Spencer Foundation Award amounted to $6,000, which will help as she pursues an operatic career. There were 30 competitors in the annual event. Paint Box Guild
The Paint Box Guild of Littleton has continued to meet via Zoom every Wednesday and has an exhibit at Denver Community Credit Union, 101 W. Mineral Ave. in Littleton, through April. Paintings that have been on display at Littleton Adventist Hospital will move to Castle Rock Adventist Hospital through June. The group’s next exhibit will be at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock April 6 through May 20. In May, the group will exhibit at Atlas Coffee Shop in Ken Caryl, in June at Goodson Recreation Center in Centennial, and in July at the opening of Atlas Coffee Shop in Littleton (former Solid Grounds Coffee at Broadway and Panama). Depot Art Gallery
The Depot Art Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave. in downtown Littleton, and the adjacent Caboose Gallery will probably reopen with a member appreciation show in mid-April. We will watch for more information and pass it along.
Colorado Ballet has announced a season finale, “Through It All,” at Lone Tree Arts Center on April 10-11 and 17-18. This will be the first company performances in over a year and dancers have been rehearsing in smaller pod groups in the studio for this mixed repertoire performance. The program will include traditional and new works. Performances will be: April 10, 11, 17, 18 at 2 p.m. and April 10 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for livestream access will cost $25/individual, $40/household. Arapahoe Community College is adding a music business certificate to its Music Audio Technology Program in fall 2021. The 16-hour certificate can be earned as a stand-alone certificate or as a supplement to an associate degree. Three pre-existing ACC classes — Music Business, Business of Live Music Performance and Music Marketing Strategies — are included in the certificate. An internship and two new class offerings — Project Management and for Musicians and Music Publishing — will round out remaining required credits.
