What makes you the best choice for this office?

My support of local businesses is unparalleled especially during the Covid 19 crisis. I fought hard to get our small businesses open helping with Reopen Colorado and the Restaurant Industry. My background in finance is unique being in banking and retiring from Visa. Those qualifications will help me understand our fiscal situations better than most. My roots run deep in Parker. I currently lead the Parker Republicans. I have attended every Parker Days since moving here in 1996 and volunteered at many of them. I helped with various functions and parades put on by the town.

If you're elected, what is one single issue that will be at the top of your agenda?

Keeping the agenda moving forward. Parker is consistently recognized as a top small town in America. We have a high per capita income, low crime, prosperous businesses, and at the town level, we are blessed with people in town hall who are subject matter experts. Our current council in my opinion has done a terrific job. I especially respect their work on transportation and roads. Parker has learned how to leverage the state and county for funds. CDOT has complete control of Parker Road which is our biggest problem so we must work with them to solve the traffic flow.

If you're elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?

If I'm looking in a rear-view mirror in 2024, I would hope that I would see a better Parker with more recreational opportunities, playgrounds, parks, and open space that can be utilized by all, not just a few. I am very much an advocate of helping the disabled being able to get out and enjoy what we have to offer. Right now, I do not see many options for the disabled or seniors, for that matter. We need to do a better job of being more all inclusive in our offerings for various lifestyles.

In your view, what is (or should be) the role and responsibility of a Parker Town Council member?

Be a steward of the town's finances, overseeing the annual budget, and managing the town administrator. In addition, it is the responsibility of councilmembers to make policy level decisions for the town. I have the time and resources to do proper research and discuss such actions with the town's residents. It is important to understand the Master Plan and help plan strategically for the future. Proper planning and preparation are the keys to any successes.

Why are you seeking this office?

I believe my answers to the previous answers are applicable to this question as well: Maintain fiscal responsibility, move the town forward by helping small businesses, represent all the town residents by listening to their needs. As one of six councilmembers, I get one vote. I won't make promises I can't keep. In 2014, I brought national attention to Parker when I carried the Olympic torch for the USA, now it is time for me to carry the torch for the residents of Parker. A vote for me is a vote for honesty.
