Zanetti calls opportunity ‘an absolute honor’


Rocky Vista University in Parker has announced a new head of the Veteran Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem, a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs program designed to spur health care innovation for veterans.

Dr. Cole Zanetti, co-director of Rocky Vista’s study program for digital health, has been named senior adviser of for the VHA Innovation Ecosystem, according to a June 23 release. Zanetti is the primary care section chief for the VA’s Eastern Colorado Health Care System.

Zanetti is the first osteopathic physician to serve as the program’s senior adviser. He will assist the program in shaping the vision and strategic direction of the VA.

“This opportunity, combined with the digital health track, is an absolute honor,” Zanetti stated in the release. “I hope (it shows) the world, in a small way, how the osteopathic profession is leading in innovation in health care.”

Zanetti helped launch Rocky Vista’s digital health track, a specialized program emphasizing the use technology and applications to solve today’s health care challenges. Zanetti hopes to help fill the health care industry’s need for trained, competent digital health professionals.
