Runaway teen located, safe

Posted

An endangered runaway who left his Highlands Ranch home for the second time in three days on Dec. 30 was found New Year's Eve and is receiving treatment at an area hospital.

Ethan Ryder, 16, was reported missing at mid-day Dec. 30 from the 9800 block of Spring Hill Lane.

According to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Ryder left his home without a jacket or cell phone despite cold temperatures.

As of 8:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Ryder had been located and was reportedly doing well at an area hospital.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Douglas County Search and Rescue, all the media that assisted and ran the story and all the citizens that called in information to help locate the teen.

No further information is available at this time.
