Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: to help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.
On April 7, channel your inner turtle and discover many ways of experiencing art (and the museum) at a slower pace.
10:30-11:30 am: Meditation
Quiet your mind in the galleries with a guided meditation by our partners from Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado.
1:00-2:45 pm: Exhibition Tours
Linger longer with a guided tour and get to know artists and art works in more depth.
3:00-3:45 pm: Mindful Looking
Spend 45 minutes savoring and discussing a single work of art.
Throughout the day:
Explore art works through multiple senses at our tactile tables
Get your creative juices flowing with a Create-n-Take
Take a “Slow Art Challenge” along the way
Slow Art Day is included in general admission. No registration necessary.
Adult programs are supported by William Randolph Hearst Endowment for Education Programs, Nancy Benson Education Endowment Fund, CenturyLink Endowment, James Kelley and Amie Knox Education Endowment Fund, and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).
