Two companies interested in Ranch trash

Requests for proposals are on their way to two trash and recycling companies.

Eagle Waste and Pro Disposal made the cut to bid on optional consolidated trash service.

Draft RFPs were submitted from the two Highlands Ranch companies as well as Waste Management. Only Pro Disposal and Eagle were able to accommodate the Highlands Ranch Community Association’s opt in program.

Each are offering a three-year contract with renewal options. Prices differ, with Eagle offering $21.60 to $11.35 per month, depending on the number of days and houses served. Pro Disposal offered a range of $13.19 down to $11.33, based on number of days trucks can pick up community-wide, but without a stipulation of the number of houses taking part.

“Other fees could be charged,” said Paul Meyers, HRCA board director who has been working on a trash consolidation proposal for a few years. “Say you have a sofa, this isn’t Boulder, so that sofa has to go away.”

Both companies offered free service for community events run by the association.

HRCA staff expect full proposals from both companies.
