Two Douglas County School District students are among winners in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The third group of winners was announced recently, as officials of each sponsor college selected their winners from among National Merit finalists who plan to attend their institution.
These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate student at the institution financing the scholarship.
• Daniel Horn, from Mountain Vista High School, plans to study law.
• Matthew Long, from Douglas County High School, plans to study business.
More than 1.6 million students from 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 competition. Recipients of the final round of National Merit college-sponsored awards will be announced July 16.
