Tyler Weaver

Professional martial artist

I’m 19 years old, born and raised in Highlands Ranch. I’m taking online college classes right now and I’m also a professional martial artist, sponsored by Paul Mitchell. I’m really into extreme martial arts and sports karate. I’m a part of the ATA Martial Arts School in Denver.

In a day, I usually wake up and study for a few hours, and then I’ll go to the gym. Sometimes, I’ll go to an open gym for gymnastics to practice my flips and jumps.

My father owned a martial arts studio in Highlands Ranch called Championship Karate, so I’ve been into the sport my entire life. He’s retired now and the studio’s closed, but I grew up always doing it.

I want to become an actor someday, like Jackie Chan, and perform actual stunts in movies. I want to go big.

I’ve traveled to a lot of places for martial arts competitions and seminars — Ireland, Australia, Russia, Germany. It’s hard to say which place has been my favorite. Everywhere that I get to go is amazing. Summer is tournament season, so I travel two to three times a month.

I’ve also been involved with the media — I was on the Oprah Winfrey show and the Megan Mullally show.

My life is mostly karate and martial arts, but I love music and dancing. I also like tricking, which is martial arts combined with gymnastics.
