Vandal casting stones

At least 10 cars need new windows in the Westridge area after a vandal threw large rocks through the glass.

Overnight Dec. 19-20, cars parked in driveways and on the street where vandalized.

None of the owners knew of anyone they thought would break glass on their cars and detectives can’t find a common thread with the owners.

Even the span of the vandalism is over discrete areas with major roads and Spring Gulch open space separating the incident locations.

Owners estimate the damage to each car at $200 to $500.

Cars were damaged on seven streets.

Four were damaged on Mountain Maple Avenue in the 1600, 1900 and two in the 2000 block. The others were in the 10300 block of Woodrose Lane, 1600 block of Spring Water Lane, 1200 block of Brettonwood Way, 10300 block of Brookhollow Circle, 10600 block of Ridgecrest Lane, and the 9800 block of Thornbury Way.

Sheriff Dave Weaver stressed the need for neighbors to report suspicious people or noises.

Investigators ask that people with information contact the anonymous tip line at 303-660-7579.
